What are we about?

Built on Experience. Grown Through Trust. Intentionally Personal.

Last Mile Home Contracting wasn’t built to become the biggest contracting company in town. It was built to become the kind of company people feel good about inviting into their home—and even better about recommending to someone they care about.

After more than 25 years in the trades, I’ve learned that bigger doesn’t always mean better. Growth for the sake of growth has never been the goal. I’d much rather remain personally involved, know our clients, understand the details of their projects, and have the time to make sure the work carrying the Last Mile name is something I’m genuinely proud of.

That philosophy extends to how we find our next project.

You probably won’t see Last Mile everywhere on social media. We don’t rely heavily on Google Ads, constant promotions, lead-generation campaigns, or the latest marketing gimmick to keep the calendar full. We’ve intentionally chosen a different path. Much of our work comes from past clients, referrals, designers, industry partners, and people who have seen what we do and want that same level of care brought into their own home.

I believe there’s something meaningful about earning the next project rather than simply advertising for it.

That also means I can be selective about the work we take on and remain involved when it matters. Whether we’re completing a substantial renovation, solving a complicated construction detail, or performing a precision luxury installation, I want our clients to feel that their project matters—not that it’s simply another job moving through a large operation.

I’ve also never believed success should be measured solely by how many employees you have, how many projects you can run simultaneously, or how quickly you can make a company larger. Last Mile is a business I care deeply about, but it is also part of a life I care about.

Having time for my family matters to me. Having time for the people and relationships that keep the wheels turning matters to me. And maintaining that balance allows me to bring the energy, patience, judgment, and attention our clients deserve when I step into their homes.

That balance is intentional.

It allows us to work with experienced tradespeople and trusted partners without losing the personal involvement that built our reputation in the first place. It allows me to answer the phone, have the difficult conversation when one is needed, notice the detail that could easily be overlooked, and stay connected to a project instead of simply handing it off.

Our clients aren't hiring a marketing machine.

They're hiring experience, relationships, accountability, and someone who still cares whose name is attached to the finished work.

And when a client tells a friend, neighbor, designer, or family member, “Call Last Mile,” that recommendation means more to me than any advertisement ever could.

We don't need to be the biggest. We want to be the company you're confident recommending.

That is how Last Mile has grown—and it's how I intend to keep it.

Family is at the heart of my life, and in many ways, it’s also part of what keeps Last Mile moving forward.

Joleen is a nurse practitioner and an incredible source of support, encouragement, and perspective. My son, Ashton, may even be a familiar face on your jobsite from time to time—when he isn’t busy working what seems like ten other jobs of his own. And then there’s my daughter, Kenzie, who at seventeen somehow manages to be seventeen going on twenty-seven and keeps all of us on our toes.

Of course, no family introduction would be complete without Hudson, our Australian Shepherd mix, and Church, our English Cream Golden Retriever. They make sure there’s never a shortage of personality—or dog hair—in the house.

My family is a constant reminder of why the work we do matters. A home isn’t simply cabinetry, finishes, appliances, or construction details. It’s where families gather, where memories are made, and where everyday life unfolds.

That perspective stays with me on every project. When you invite Last Mile into your home, I understand that you’re trusting us with something much more personal than a construction project—and that’s a responsibility I genuinely appreciate.
